Do you remember being asked this question in kindergarten? I do—standing in front of my classmates at Palawan Teachers College (now Palawan State University), proudly declaring my childhood dream.
Looking back, I realize that even then, we were being shaped by our values, environment, and early glimpses of who we could become. The journey from that little stage to where I am now has been filled with learning, transformation, and grace.
We don’t always become what we imagined as children—but with purpose and perseverance, we become who we’re meant to be. We’re reminded of Proverbs 19:21, NIV “Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.”

“An international flight stewardess!” ✈️
In 1996, out of nearly a thousand applicants, I was one of only 10 selected by Northwest Airlines (now Delta) after multiple screenings, written exams, and a panel interview. Training was to begin in Minneapolis, 🇺🇸
But life had other plans. I got engaged in March, married in June, became a mother in 1998, and started over by 2000.
Looking back, I see it clearly now: no experience is ever wasted.
Each season—success, setback, or shift—shaped who I am today: a woman of purpose, grounded by faith, and committed to empowering others through image, communication, and personal growth.
Your career doesn’t always follow a straight line. Sometimes, the detours lead to your deepest calling.
